The Forum of Federations is pleased to formally announce the election of the Honorable Irwin Cotler as a director representing Canada to the Board of Directors. Mr. Cotler retired as the long-standing Member of Parliament for Mount Royal in November, 2015. His distinguished Parliamentary career included tenures in cabinet as the Attorney General of Canada and Federal Minister of Justice.
“Mr. Cotler brings a wealth of experience in law, pluralism and human rights to the Forum of Federations,” said Rupak Chattopadhyay. “The Forum will benefit greatly from Mr. Cotler’s judgement, insights and knowledge.”
In addition to his parliamentary career, Irwin Cotler is the Founder and Chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, an Emeritus Professor of Law at McGill University and a globally renowned human rights lawyer.
