Mission to Nepal to explore Forum's role in federal options
After years of civil war, Nepal is now ruled by an interim government consisting of eight political parties including the Maoists, who were insurgents during the previous government. There is consensus now that federal options should be considered for Nepal once a constituent assembly is elected at the end of the year. During his visit, Mr. Anderson met with representatives from the major political parties, he made presentations to the law faculty at Tribhuvan University and to a group of journalists, and he consulted with representatives of civil society.
