Forum DVD on Federalism released in Arabic and Kurdish

The Forum of Federations has released a multilingual DVD for use in its development-assistance programs. The DVD has been translated into Arabic and Sorani-Kurdish, and will be used as an educational tool for the Forum's federalism training program in Iraq. The DVD, titled The Challenge of Diversity, is a core learning product of the Forum. The recording was originally produced in English and French and has also been previously translated into Tamil and Sinhala.

The 42-minute DVD compares the federal systems and practices of five ethnically-diverse federations - Belgium, Canada, India, Spain and Switzerland.

With funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Forum will use the DVD this year in the training of about 70 Iraqi academics.

The DVD will also form part of the curriculum for a course on federalism for law and political science students in publicly-funded universities in Iraq. There are 20 law colleges and six departments of political science in Iraq. The newly-produced recording contains the Arabic, Sorani-Kurdish and English version in one DVD.
