The Forum-produced video, The Challenge of Diversity - the Federal Experience, describes how five countries deal with their diverse ethnic and linguistic characteristics through their federal systems: India; Switzerland; Belgium; Spain and Canada.

 

Those studying federalism, or seeking models and examples to help guide efforts to construct new political structures will likely find something of interest in all cases.

Speaking of Federalism

Speaking of Federalism is an exploration of the ideas that were generated at the International Conference on Federalism in Saint Gallen, Switzerland in 2002, as expressed in the words of the participants. It is a compilation of ideas on what federalism means in the minds of those who practice it in a dozen countries.
