The Forum of Federations runs programs in over 20 countries in all regions of the world.

The Forum works with a wide variety of government bodies and practitioners to address governance challenges in partner- and non-partner countries, including mature federal countries, emerging federations, countries with federal attributes, and countries considering federal or de-centralizing solutions to problems of governance.

The Forum is active in more than 20 countries around the globe. Its headquarters are in Ottawa, Canada, and it has field offices in ; Khartoum, Sudan; Kathmandu, Nepal; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Abuja, Nigeria
