Vickal Deep Khadka is Program Manager at the Forum of Federations, Nepal Field office. He joined the Forum in November 2009. Before joining the Forum, he worked as a resident Program Officer with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (ND), Kathmandu office. Vickal joined NDI in August 2005 as an Office/Program Assistant and was appointed as a Program Officer from March 2006 to November 2006 to oversee the institute’s polling program. Following successful completion of the project, he was promoted to full-time Program Officer (Political Party Team) on November 2006. To achieve the Institute’s objective, he worked closely with political parties to enhance their institutional development and management skills including leadership skills and strategies, internal communications, transparent financial management practices etc. He facilitated the “Polling Agent Training Program” as a Trainer, conducted by the Institute in which 92 political activists from the five development regions were trained to be poll watchers for their respective parties in the Constituent Assembly Election in Nepal. He also worked with women parliamentarians and political party activists to enhance their political skills, through the Women’s Leadership Academy program, and to serve their constituents and the public through programs to strengthen their ability to deliver services to voters.Vickal also served as a Secretary/Accountant with the SOS Youth Facility in Biratnagar before joining NDI. He is married to Anju Lamichhane. |
