Constructing Tomorrow’s Federalism / SIPP conference with Forum support

For the Conference on Constructing Tomorrow’s Federalism in March 2004, organized by the Saskatchewan Institute of Public Policy in Regina, Canada, the Forum brought international experts from Germany and Switzerland. Kurt Nuspliger, from the Canton of Bern, explained the role of the cantons in the Swiss government and the way that Switzerland has implemented proportional representation in their legislature. Julian Wuertenberger, from the Land of Baden Wuerttemberg, explained the German commission set up to reform their federal system – the Bundestaatskommission – whose far-reaching recommendations are expected in the fall.
