Finance and Governance of Capital Cities in Federal Systems book published by McGill-Queen’s University Press

Finance and Governance of Capital Cities in Federal Systems is the first in a series of Forum of Federation publications that aims to collect and analyze lessons from different countries on sectoral issues in federal systems.

This volume is the most comprehensive publication on federal capital cities since Donald Rowat’s book in 1973. It aims to fill gaps in our comparative knowledge by providing as balanced a view as possible of specific practices in various federal countries around the world. The series does so by exploring comparative and contrasting practical perspectives.

The book was co-edited by Forum Vice-President Rupak Chattopadhyay and Enid Slack, director of the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance at the Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto.

The book was published Nov. 23, 2009.
