Forum President speaks at the Ruppin Forum on Diversity
Forum President Rupak Chattopadhyay was invited as a speaker to the Canada-Israel Bilateral Forum on Diversity co-organized by the Association of Canadian Studies and the Ruppin Academic Centre at Emek Hefer. The seminar brought together a number of leading academics and practitioners to consider, among other things, how countries with high levels of immigration deal with the deal with issues of integration. Speaking at a session on "The Role of Communities in Immigration and Integration” , Rupak Chattopadhyay drew on the Forum’s ongoing work to highlight how federal countries in the developed world have been dealing with the challenges of integrating immigrants, and the role played by different levels of government in the immigration process. The seminar provided an opportunity for the Forum to highlight it’s experience in working with countries where the accommodation of diversity was the key public policy issue.
