German politicians and academics learn how to encourage diversity with unity

German federal and Länder (state) officials and staff from civil society organizations met in Bad Staffelstein in Bavaria to explore how German federalism relates to cultural, economic and religious diversity. The Global Dialogue country roundtable on diversity in federal systems, held on February 26-28, 2008, was co-ordinated by Prof. Roland Sturm of the University of Erlangen and organized by the Forum and the university’s Zentralinstitut für Regionalforschung with the support of the Hans-Seidel-Stiftung.
