The course, which was held from June 18 to July 5, 2007, is part of a two-year $2 million project funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

The Forum of Federations was represented by federalism experts Violeta Ruiz Almendral, David Cameron, Richard Simeon and Marie-Joelle Zahar. Presentations were also made by Indian Ambassador R. Dayaka, Swiss Ambassador to Jordan Paul Widmer, Belgian Charge de’Affaires Jeroen Vergeylen and UNAMI Head of the Office for Constitutional Support Nicolas Haysom .

Course participants are in the process of establishing their own Iraqi Center of Federal Studies and plan to manage their own website in order to share federalism materials and build a national network of academics.

The event was organized by Project Director Marc Lemieux. The next course is being held in Amman from August 6 to 19.
