Senators learn about federal reforms in other countries before instituting their own

Mexican senators learned about changes in power sharing in other federal countries and considered how to implement the division of powers set out in the Mexican constitution at an event organized by the Forum and INAFED on March 31, 2008, at the Senate of the Republic of Mexico in Mexico City. International experts from the Forum included Alejandro Arlia, Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mr. S. Lakshminarayanan,
former Secretary of India’s Inter-State Council; Peter Globensky, formerly of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment; and Rainer Holtschneider, former State Secretary of the Interior Ministry of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (Germany). The organizer of the event for the Senate Commission for Federalism in Mexico City was INAFED, with help from the Forum.
