Members of the Training of Trainers Seminar in Yangon, February 17-21, 2014.
Following various participatory design and consultation processes, the Forum designed its third 5-day Federalism Training of Trainers (TOT) program as part of its program "Enabling Burma’s Move towards Democracy”, supported by the Government of Canada (Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development).
The TOT methodology asks participants to apply their new skills in leading self, others and their organizations in terms of strengthening federal governance under the topics of:
• Federalism and Diversity
• Rule of Law
• Fiscal Federalism
• Natural Resource Management
• Good Governance
• Federalism and the Developmental State
The Forum trained 26 trainers who were carefully selected and nominated by its local partner organization, Myanmar EGRESS. The objective is to increase the capacity of local trainers to train others on issues related to federalism in Burma.
The Training of Trainers Workshop (TOT) was from 17 to 21 February 2014 and was delivered by Sandeep Shastri (Jain University, Bangalore), Francis Loh (Penang University, Malaysia) and Shawn Houlihan (Forum of Federations).
