Partner Governments

The Forum's Partner Governments are:

A Partner Government is a national government that has signed an agreement with the Forum in order to foster the exchange and sharing of information, ideas, intellectual, financial and human resources. 

The goal of these partnerships is to improve governance and enhancing democracy by promoting dialogue on the practices, principles, and possibilities of federalism.

The partner government is represented through the Board of Directors, and through the nomination of one or more members to sit on the Forum's Strategic Council. The Strategic Council offers the Forum practical advice to make its programs stick to policy makers' daily realities.  Representatives from Partner Governments are invited to relevant Forum events - as participants or observers.

Partner Governments contribute to the Forum through in-kind contributions, core funding or specific projects. Partnerships remain in effect for three years, after which they may be renegotiated for another three-year term.

The Forum also works with all orders of Government notably by entering into partnerships with constituent units of countries. For example, arrangements may be made with Government agencies of the Partner Government, National Legislative Bodies or National Intergovernmental bodies.
