Fourth International Conference on Federalism
New Delhi, India – 5-7 November 2007
The Inter-State Council Secretariat, Government of India, in partnership with the Forum of Federations is organizing the Fourth International Conference on Federalism in New Delhi, India from 5 to 7 November 2007. This conference is the latest in a series including Mt. Tremblant, Canada, in 1999, St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 2002 and Brussels, Belgium in 2005.
This event will have over 1,000 participants representing over 100 countries. The conference will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India and will also see participation by heads of state and heads of government from the world’s leading federal countries.
Like past conferences, this conference also will provide a unique interactive forum where practitioners are able to learn from each other. The conference is aimed at all interested in the practice of federalism, including politicians, civil servants, academics and young professionals.
The title of the conference is Unity in Diversity: Learning from Each Other and is based around four themes, including:
